Bhubaneswar - One of the Cleanest City in India

Bhubaneswar is adjudged as One of the Cleanest city under Swachh Bharat Mission. Bhubaneswar bagged the ‘East Zone Top Movers’ award in the Swachh Sarvekshan list- 2016. The rank of the capital city is 24 in the list among the 73 top cities of the country. Mysore has topped the list with Chandigarh at number two and Trichnapalli at third position.

The Temple City of India, Bhubaneshwar hosts a large number of Hindu temples with Puri and Konark are most famous ones. The capital of Odisha state is well famous for its old sculptures, Odissi dance, Chilka lake, handicrafts, rock carvings and wildlife. Due to the boom in the metals and metal processing industries in the state and as one of the information technology hub in East India, Bhubaneswar is emerging as one of the fastest developing cities of India.

Event Details - Mega ATV Championship 2016: 
Mega ATV Championship is an off-terrain ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) / Dune Buggy / Mini BAJA racing competition based on Real life challenges and disaster management using All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV’s).

An Engineering Design, Manufacturing, Racing and utility based competition in which participant Teams from all over the country has to design and then fabricate ATV and use it to serve for mankind. The promoters of these host facilities have experience in the design, preparation and maintenance of ATV-friendly racetracks.

This event would be the first of its kind in India and would be at par with competition standards of USA, UK, Australia, Germany, Japan & Austria. The aim of Mega ATV Championship is to promote good engineering practices in manufacturing of off-road and ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle) for students by providing a platform where they can learn to design, manufacture and understand the utility of such vehicles. Apart from sporting, the event aims to educate the people and spread awareness regarding the wide application of such versatile vehicles for Disaster Management and accessing rough terrains.

The target is to promote off-roading enthusiasts in India, establishing the culture of competitive and recreational sports all over the country and promoting and encouraging young talent.

The title contenders have to go through a series of real life situation challenges where not just the durability of the ATV but also the team’s breaking point would be put to test. Simulating a real racing experience, the teams would also be able to throw open challenges to their rivals and earn respect points. The entire event would be powered with live scoring viewable at any instant with clear demarcating scoring parameters.

You might also be able to ride on some of the top off road brands of sports car on a real off road terrain. The after dark DJ show awaits you and also to be the audience of our star night.

Bhubaneswar will experience its second Raahgiri Day on this sunday (24th Jan 2015). It'll be again a sunday when the Janpath will be ruled by people indulged in various jovial and playful activities amidst complete absence of vehicular traffic. Inviting all the denizens of Bhubaneswar again to pour in large numbers and make the 2nd Raahgiri Day a remarkable one.

Raahgiri Day is a street event which provides citizens with the opportunity to reclaim their streets, connect with their community, celebrate their city and therefore reclaim their lives. Raahgiri Day is a street event for citizens to play different kind of games on road, people can show their Performance on road and also can promote art and culture.

On 17th January 2015, Bhubaneswar experienced it's first Raahgiri Day.  One whole section of Janpath was cordoned off for citizens, for 3-4 hours in the morning, to come together in large numbers and use the street for recreation that promotes health, well-being, fitness, togetherness and joy.

FREE JOB ORIENTED TRAINING PROGRAMME (Residential) at CIPET, Campus-II, Bhubaneswar

Sisir Saras 2016, the Annual National level exhibition of rural Handicraft and Handloom products, will be held at Exhibition Ground Bhubaneswar from 1st to 13th Jan 2016. The fair is organized by Odisha Rural Development and Marketing Society (ORMAS), Odisha Livelihoods Mission, Panchayati Raj Department and sponsored by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India. 

Such exhibitions are instrumental in providing market linkage to rural artisans who are struggling to find a better market and remunerative price for their products. ORMAS has been hosting exhibitions under the banner of Sisir Saras, Gramshree Mela and Pallishree Mela across the country to provide a platform for rural artisans to showcase and sell their products besides interacting with urban consumers to facilitate better trade ties. 

A large number of rural craftsmen and Self Help Groups are participating in the event. Apart from Odisha, artisans from 25 other States are showcasing their products.


Everyday evening there will be cultural programmes to entertain the visitors. Also, there will be food stalls with a wide variety of foods.

The special attraction of the exhibition last year (SISIR SARAS 2015) was the metal work products from Madhya Pradesh, wood crafts from Tamil Nadu, bamboo crafts from North-East States, Madhubani paintings from Bihar, Dhokra from Chhattisgarh, shawls and carpets from Jammu and Kashmir and kantha stitch from West Bengal. Workshops on designing and packaging of products was also organised for artisans to enhance the marketability of their products.
